Is Vahiné gelatin halal?
It is necessary to distinguish the references. The photo of our old sachet shows halal marking. On the other hand, the current French sheet for Vahiné edible gelatin sheets indicates a porcine origin for the product it presents. So do not transfer the marking from the old photo to another offer.
For an animal reference, look at the species listed and the product and batch specific certification information. If in doubt, ask for confirmation from the manufacturer or seller before ordering.
Use gelatin sheets
The dosage and preparation depend on the product and the recipe. Follow the instructions on the packet received, including hydration, incorporation and temperature. Do not deduce an equivalence in grams from the number of leaves alone: their weight and gelling strength may vary.

A plant-based option: Vahiné agar-agar
To find a vegetable gelling agent, the Vahiné agar-agar reference in 4 sachets of 2 g constitutes a separate avenue. The manufacturer indicates E406 agar-agar, algae extract. Its preparation and result are not identical to those of animal gelatin: use a suitable recipe and dosage.
